De la Puente emphasizes that while Balaídos is not an old stadium, it has aged and requires updates to meet modern expectations of functionality and aesthetics.

Additionally, the possibility of renaming Balaídos with a sponsor’s name has been considered, following the trend of other European clubs. However, Celta’s president, Carlos Mouriño, has stated that while this is an interesting option, the primary focus remains on completing the stadium’s renovation in collaboration with local authorities.
